As this winter we couldn’t do any holiday, we decided to discover and enjoy our territory. On December the 29th we took advantage of a wonderful sunny day to go to Mottarone, which is located in Piemonte.

Mottarone is a 1491 meters high mountain, above the three lakes: Lake Maggiore, lake d’Orta and Lake Mergozzo. The view from the top is incredible and the snow made everything even more special. 

Many activities can be done: walking, skiing (skii tracks are very easy so they’re perfect for the beginners), but what makes Mottarone famous is Aplyland: an amazing rail sled overlooking the lakes and the surrounding landscape. The particularity is that you can choose the speed. The cost of the ticket is 5 Euros (you can find the ticket on Groupon: two rides for 5.90 Euros bur remember to print it otherwise they won’t accept it). 

So, what are you waiting for? Winter, spring, autumn or summer…spending a nice day on Mottarone is always a good idea!
